SUBJECT: 8850 Sunset Blvd - Wrong for West Hollywood
EMAIL BODY:
I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed demolition of the iconic Viper Room and adjacent local businesses for the mixed-use development project at 8850 Sunset Boulevard. Increased traffic congestion is a primary concern, coupled with the looming threat to our neighborhood's character. West Hollywood deserves development that aligns with our community’s needs and takes our input into consideration.
The project's sheer scale would exacerbate already existing traffic problems in our neighborhood – and this is on top of the disruptive construction impacts we will experience for years, including noise. If this project is approved, it would become the tallest development in West Hollywood's history, fundamentally altering our community. The proposed operations, with numerous bars, a nightclub and hotel, and extensive event spaces, would generate significant noise, light, and traffic issues.
We understand that change is important and necessary—we believe in responsible, sensible, and balanced development— based on these reasonable standards, 8850 Sunset as proposed is WRONG for West Hollywood.
